The Jubilee has been host to East Coast Music Association, Music Nova Scotia and Juno Award winners and nominees. The distinctive setting and outdoor amphitheatre provides music lovers one of the most engaging and in your face music experiences of its kind.

It is an event with a flavour all its own, featuring Rock and the best East Coast music. The event was built on a proud tradition of opening its stage for the region's rising stars to perform alongside seasoned national and international acts, and turning music lovers onto the rich talent that flourishes here.

The Jubilee is a signature Nova Scotia music event and mainstay of the local tourism industry. This 3-time Music Nova Scotia (MNS) Event of the Year recipient, 2-time ECMA Event of the Year nominee, and winner of the TIANS Golden Hospitality Award (2013) continues to be one of the best entertainment values in Atlantic Canada.

300 volunteers
The Jubilee is a volunteer driven, non-profit organization. At the helm is a volunteer Board of Directors, and crewed by more than 300 volunteers.

Site Grounds

 

The Jubilee takes place at Glasgow Square Theatre, an open-air amphitheatre on New Glasgow’s riverfront (155 Glasgow St). This scenic outdoor setting on the East River delivers one of the most intimate and engaging music experiences of its kind.

Box Office: for those needing to purchase tickets at the event, admission/tickets can be purchased at the Box Office. the Jubilee box office is located before the main gate, just off George Street. Tickets will be available for purchase from the box office each night beginning at 7pm and running until 12:00am. Only advance ticket purchasers will be admitted after 12:00 am.

VIP Tent: there will be a tent in the licensed area for VIP pass holders. VIP Pass holders can access the VIP tent and amenities.

Concession stands with a variety of food and beverages are available in both the All Ages Area and Licensed Area. The Jubilee Gift Shop and Artist Merchandise tent is located next to the Gazebo in the All Ages Area. First Aid and public lavatories are also located on-site.

NOT PERMITTED: Self-folding chairs and umbrellas. In the (unlikely!) event of rain, ponchos and hats are welcome, umbrellas are not allowed as they affect the site lines of other patrons.

Water bottles: allowed if sealed

Parking: Parking can be found at 261 Glasgow St, accessed via Stewart Street from East River Road.

Bleacher seating will be available in both the licensed and all-ages area.

The Jubilee has ID checks to identify patrons 19 years of age and over.  Government IDs may be requested at any time and all Nova Scotia liquor law rules, regulations and license conditions are in effect. Please note that it is unlawful to bring liquor onto the site.

  • Video or sound recording is prohibited.
  • All bags are subject to search.
  • The Jubilee reserves the right to refuse entrance.
  • No pets or skateboards are permitted.
  • The site is smoke-free.
  • Please take extra care walking on the sidewalks, paved areas and green spaces of the site.

FERRY

The way Atlantic Canada was meant to be explored—by sea.

Let the mv Confederation and the mv Holiday Island take you on a journey across the Northumberland Strait. This 75-minute route runs between Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island and Caribou, Nova Scotia, just outside of Pictou. Summertime crossings feature unforgettable Seaside Experiences—a showcase of the finest music, entertainment, food, wine, and beer samplings the region has to offer. An outdoor seating area means passengers can enjoy the fresh sea air during crossing. Book the ferry ahead of time for any of the nine departure times—each side—and save up to 100km of driving between Charlottetown and Halifax, or up to 300km from Charlottetown to any eastern Nova Scotian destination.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ticket Outlets & Purchasing
Tickets can be purchased online at: www.ticketpro.ca, or any TicketPro outlet until 4:00 p.m. on the day of a show. For example: If you would like to buy tickets for Saturday night, you can buy them for the advance price up until 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

After this time, tickets can only be purchased at the on-site Box Office. Tickets will be on sale at the Box Office Friday and Saturday nights from 7:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m., with Sunday night ending at 11:00 p.m.

Payment Details
Ticketpro.ca accepts Visa, Interac, American Express, MasterCard, and Cash. Visit the TicketPro Outlets web page for more information on payment details and locations in your area. The on-site Box Office accepts cash, debit and credit.

Will Call
Tickets left at the on-site Box Office can be picked up day of each of the three days of the festival. To redeem your tickets please have: Confirmation Number Government Issued Photo ID
Third Party Resale & Ticket Scalping
Do not purchase tickets third-party ticketing – only purchase through the Riverfront Jubilee, ticketpro.ca or TicketPro outlets. Counterfeit tickets will not be honoured and the Riverfront Jubilee will not be responsible for the promotion or sale of counterfeit tickets. The Riverfront Jubilee is unable to verify the authenticity of passes not purchased from jubileens.ca, ticketpro.ca or TicketPro outlets.

Ticket scalping and ticket re-sale is prohibited on the festival site.

Return Policy
All tickets purchased for the Riverfront Jubilee are final sale. There are no refunds or exchanges. The festival takes place rain or shine.
Minors
As of 2019, the Riverfront Jubilee became a 19+ site. The unanimous decision came after the board solicited feedback via survey from patrons, which resulted in over 450 responses, in addition to extensive discussions and reflection on past events over the festival’s twenty-three-year history. In recent years the Jubilee has seen a decrease in paid attendance for patrons under 19. The change to a 19+ event is common for festivals and concerts and is focused on patron safety.

The 2019 festival will be held August 2, 3 and 4 on the grounds of Glasgow Square, located at 155 Glasgow Street, New Glasgow, NS B2H 5E1
ATMs
One ATM available on-site. The TD Band drive through ATM is available for use during the festival.
Food & Beverage On-Site
The Riverfront Jubilee has a Beverage Tent on-site. The beverage tent accepts tickets only in the general admission section. The ticket booth accepts cash only. The VIP area has a private cash bar. The Riverfront Jubilee has a Food Truck Court for the 2019 festival. Three food trucks will be on-site for general admission guests. The Food Truck Court will also have seating available. The VIP area will have access a private VIP-only Food Truck. Guests are not permitted to bring any food or beverages into the festival grounds. Please see the list of prohibited items. The safety and protection of guests is our top priority.
Lost & Found
Lost & Found is located at the Jube Shop (merchandise tent) during the festival. If you happen to find a lost item, please take it to Lost & Found.

If you have lost an item at the Riverfront Jubilee, please email us at board.jubilee@gmail.com with a description of your item. Please note, we are not responsible for any lost or damaged items.

Re-Entry Policy
There is a no re-entry policy at the Jubilee, for everyone’s overall safety and security management.
Wristbands
Yes, wristbands are issued upon access to the festival grounds.
Accessibility
The Riverfront Jubilee is wheelchair accessible. For more information on accessible services, please inquire upon entry. A Jubilee Volunteer will try to assist the needs of all guests, as related to accessibility. All restroom areas are portable toilets. There is one accessible friendly portable toilet on-site. Please see the site map or contact the nearest event volunteer for exact locations. Certified service animals that are trained to assist an individual are permitted on the ground of the Riverfront Jubilee. Service animals must remain on-leash and next to their owners at all times.

There are certain items that are NOT permitted and cannot be brought onto the Jubilee grounds. The Riverfront Jubilee reserves the right to alter carry-in policies at any time. Currently, items NOT permitted include, but are not limited to:

  • Backpacks
  • Framed Backpacks
  • Large bags including large purses
  • Other carry-ins
  • Umbrellas
  • Selfie Sticks
  • Video equipment
  • Professional cameras
  • Recording devices
  • Go Pro's & Drones

  • Pets (other than service animals, please see our section on accessibility)
  • Skateboards

Self-Folding Chairs
As of 2014 self-folding chairs are no longer permitted on site, for the safety of guests and ease of site maintenance for our volunteers. However, bleacher seating is available for guests.
Selfie Sticks
Although a handy-tool in some cases, selfie-sticks are not allowed on-site as they may disrupt the viewing pleasure of the festival.

  • The Riverfront Jubilee and Glasgow Square Theatre are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items. It is recommended that you do not bring valuables.
  • Any person(s) found fighting or threatening other festival attendees or volunteers will immediately be evicted from the event without refund.
  • All sales are final.
